The town of Sax is situated in the Vinalopó Valley, in southeastern Spain. It’s part of a series of towns and villages in the Costa Blanca region, which are characterized by castles. Sax has a population of about 9,000 and lies between Villena and Elda. The history of Sax dates back to the Moorish occupation that began in the Eighth Century, and not much is known about the town prior to that.

The residents of Sax are known for their friendly nature, and the town offers a variety of shops, tapas bars, and restaurants. A market takes place twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Like many towns in the area, Sax celebrates several fiestas and festivals, with the most notable being the Moors and Christians festival held during the first two weeks of February.
