A traditional wooden banister runs along the staircase, and the wooden beams and posts above indicate that minimal work would be needed to transform this into functional bedroom space.

It’s important to note that there is no electricity at the house at present. The connection is available, but since electricity has never been installed, the property has always relied on candlelight, requiring a full electrical setup for modern use.

The hamlet of El Canton is small but offers a popular café and bar with favorable reviews, ideal for lunch or dinner. There’s also a small bread shop for essentials. If you need a larger selection, the nearest main supermarket is a six-minute drive away in Alguena, which includes Diaprix and Unide Supermarkets, as well as various cafes, restaurants, a butcher, health center, pharmacy, and builder’s yard.
Driving seven minutes in the opposite direction takes you to the town of Hondón de los Frailes, which features a variety of cafes and restaurants operated by expats. Here, you will also find the well-known Arkwrights British supermarket.
The property sits just across the border from Alicante into Murcia, where the purchase tax is 8%, which is two percent lower than in Alicante. Additionally, the airport and beaches of Alicante are about a 50-minute drive away.
