Property Details in Sarhos, Malevizi
This property in Sarhos, part of the Malevizi municipality, is up for grabs and comes with some interesting features. Let’s break down what you get.
The Land
You’re looking at a plot of land that spans 1,393.51 square meters. It’s a decent size, offering a good amount of space.
Ground Floor Old Section
There’s an older part of the building from 1923. This section is 100.31 square meters. It’s set up as a two-room house with a bathroom. Adjacent to that, there’s another small house with a kitchen and a room that includes its own bathroom.
Ground Floor New Section
Moving on to the newer construction on the ground floor, we have two separate areas totaling 49.30 square meters. These are essentially the ground floors of two individual houses. One has its entrance in the first landscaped area, which is finished with industrial concrete. You get to this one via an external metal staircase. The second house, also on the ground floor, has a WC and you can access it from the central courtyard.
First Floor New Section
Upstairs, on the first floor of the new section, there’s another 49.30 square meters. This level is divided into two independent rooms, each with its own bathroom. These make up the first floors of the two houses we mentioned. Each of these first-floor units has its own separate metal staircase connecting it to the ground floor.
Basement Areas
For storage or perhaps other uses, there’s a new basement section measuring 24.65 square meters that has been designated for main use. In addition to this, there’s another basement area of 43.23 square meters.
First Floor Above Old Section
There’s also a first-floor addition above the original 1923 section. This space covers 56.14 square meters. It’s an open-plan area with a living room and two WCs. To get to this part, you’ll use an entrance from the central area that’s enclosed by stone walls.
Outdoor Features
Outside, you’ll find a swimming pool that’s 40.85 square meters. It’s surrounded by an area finished with industrial concrete. Access to the pool area is via a marble staircase that leads down from the paved central courtyard of the older buildings.
The Plot Itself
The plot has a noticeable slope and is bordered by stone walls. It’s home to various fruit trees. On the north side, you’ll find olive trees, though this area isn’t fenced.
About Sarhos
Sarhos is a village that’s part of the larger community of Malevizi in the Heraklion region of Crete. It sits at an elevation of 240 meters, and it’s about 22 kilometers from the city of Heraklion. Back in 2011, the village had 165 permanent residents. Their main livelihoods come from farming, specifically viticulture (grape growing) and olive growing, along with other fruit trees. They produce raisins, olive oil, and table grapes. To the west of the village, you can find the historic Sarhos Cave, which is quite extensive, stretching for 2 kilometers and plunging 225 meters deep. The built-up area within the village limits is quite dense, with many of the buildings being older and constructed primarily from stone.
