C1481 17th Century Farmhouse To Be Restored In The Hills Of Volterra Tuscany

Immersed in the picturesque hills of Volterra, this extraordinary 17th-century farmhouse dominates the landscape with its majestic presence.

The main building, measuring approximately 1,200 sqm spread over two floors, is the result of the union of two adjoining farm buildings, the combination of which has given rise to spacious and fascinating spaces, characterised by large walk-in halls, various entrance staircases and scenic openings that enhance each room.

The complex, once composed of several buildings for residential and agricultural use, was gradually abandoned in the second half of the 20th century.
However, structural consolidation work has been carried out over the years, including the reconstruction of parts of the roof, some floors and sub-foundations, in order to make the building safe.

An initial project, already presented to the municipality, envisaged the construction of an elegant complex with 31 residential units: 15 studio and one-bedroom flats in the main building, 10 in the second building and 6 in the third building.
Work started in 2007, but was interrupted, leaving ample room for customisation and new design visions.
