A Sustainable Country Club Estate with Unique Villas

This project presents a collection of 18 individually designed villas, situated within a sprawling 200-hectare country club estate. The location offers a setting surrounded by picturesque countryside, adjacent to a UNESCO Biosphere reserve. From these villas, there are views stretching towards the Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the African coastline.

The development has received notable recognition, being awarded “World’s Best Residential Development” at the 2022 International Property Awards. In this competition, it was evaluated against 550 other developments globally. The project also secured wins for “Best Architecture in Europe” and “Best Residential Development.”

Distinctive Architectural Design

These homes are characterized by their design-focused approach, aiming for a unique offering in the market. Each of the 18 villas, along with their internal furniture and fittings, is distinct from the others. While all share the benefit of the extensive views, they are united by a high standard of design, incorporating a significant degree of innovation and creativity not commonly seen in residential developments. The integrated home automation systems and lighting are noted as being of high quality, contributing to each villa functioning as a smart home. Every villa is positioned on its own plot to ensure privacy. They feature large terraces, generous garden spaces, infinity pools, and adaptable areas that can be configured as entertainment rooms, gyms, or home offices.

Integration of Indoor and Outdoor Living

A central concept in the design of each villa is the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The living areas and terraces are intended to merge into a single, extended living environment. In specific sections of the villas, windows are designed to retract into the walls, providing unobstructed, panoramic views of the surrounding natural landscape.

On-Site Amenities and Facilities

The estate is planned to provide a wide range of amenities for its residents and their guests. These facilities are currently under development and are intended to create a comprehensive resort experience. Planned features include a substantial lake covering 36,000 m2, with a maximum length of over 400 meters. There will be a dedicated club house for residents and guests. An artificial beach is planned, featuring an enclosed swimming area. The development will offer non-motorized water sports, including windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water biking, and rowing.

An executive golf course, designed by Manuel Piñero, will encircle the lake. This will be complemented by a golf academy, a short practice area, and a long game practice area. A health and wellness center is also part of the plan, which will include a spa, sauna, massage treatment areas, a 25-meter heated swimming pool, and an additional pool for aqua gym activities. A route for running, walking, and cycling will be available around the lake.

Additionally, an exclusive boutique hotel is slated to be operated by a hospitality group. Sports facilities will include tennis and paddle tennis courts. Dining options will consist of an exclusive restaurant, a bar, and a snack bar. A small commercial area with shops and a water sports kiosk is also planned. For younger residents, there will be a Kid’s Club and a children’s play park, which will include a junior climbing area.

The project emphasizes building for the present without compromising future resources, a core principle reflected in its pursuit of BREEAM certification. The design considerations driven by this assessment are intended to result in sustainable homes. These homes aim to improve the well-being of their occupants, contribute to the preservation of natural resources, and enhance the property’s investment potential.
